The cooperative was established in 1966 and is now a 501(c)3 non-profit Missouri corporation for the purpose of providing affordable housing.
Independence Square By-Laws
This is the governing document for the cooperative. By-Laws can be changed only by a majority vote of the membership.
Rules & Regulations
These are the rules and regulations that members must agree to abide by during residency. The Rules & Regulations are established by the board of directors and are subject to change from time to time.
Pet Policy
At Independence Square Townhouses, there is a $200 charge per pet with a maximum of 2 pets allowed per home. Please download and complete our pet permit.
Personal Property Insurance
Cooperative members must acquire a specific type of coverage to insure their personal property. This is mandatory.
Independence Square Complaint Form
Members are encouraged to resolve differences with their neighbors. However, if these differences cannot be resolved a complaint may be filed with the office. Management and the board will investigate and take appropriate action for rules violations or violations of the Occupancy Agreement. Anonymous complaints are not processed.
